On the third day of parenting: Activities to keep a toddler occupied this festive season

Christmas Treasure Basket

This was an absolute hit with Harper. Be creative here. I added a Christmas themed touch and feel book, tinsel, a baby-friendly (plastic) bauble, a penguin teddy, a pine cone, a Christmas hat, and some wrapping paper. I either already had the items, or I found them cheap in my local charity shop.
Christmas crafts

We have done a few crafts so far over the festive season, and I plan on giving most of them away to family as part of their Christmas gifts (we all know how much older relative adore getting a glittery blob on a card!). One activity I had Harper do was go wild finger painting on green paper, and then when it was dry I cut them into Christmas tree shapes and made cards out of them.

Take a trip to your local garden centre to look at the lights

I do love a good garden centre, and at Christmas many of them go crazy with beautiful festive displays, making a great (free) morning or afternoon out!

Lots of places offer opportunities to meet the main man himself, some with all frills attached and some just a little grotto walk through – either way its magical!

Spend a day in your PJs and watch a Christmas movie

Make hot chocolate with mini marshmallows and other festive treats! We got matching PJs from Asda and just adore them!
