We’ve all seen the quotes; when you shop small an actual person does a little happy dance. Shopping small is beneficial for so many reasons, beyond supporting to put food on the table for a family and supporting a dream. Shopping small is also good for the economy; more money stays in our local economy when shopping small as opposed to from large businesses. I read a great article in The Wire about this. Another reason is the quality and manufacturing of independent businesses; I have found that the quality is outstanding because these small shops really care about their reputation. They are often kinder to the environment as they take more care and note of wastage, from production to postage packaging. This year I have tried to buy a number of gifts from smaller brands and independent businesses, and my own Christmas wish list features a number of items from small but amazing shops.
Nothing in this article is affiliate or sponsored in anway, nor have I been gifted any of the items for review; they are genuinely each on my Christmas list (hint hint husband if you are reading this).
Mutha Hood Pop Sock

Space Masks
I first discovered Space Masks on Instagram, and they seem to have taken off like hot cakes! I was given my first one in a goodie bag and fell in love. They really are such a lovely self-care treat. You can buy them on their website.

Whenever I see someone wearing one of Kemi’s skirts, I always think they look incredible. Her skirts just have an aura of femininity with a streak of badass, and I adore them. They are easily teamed with many basics from your wardrobe, and have an air of effortless chic about them. Kemi sells her skirts and some amazing other empowering items for women on her website.

I am a sucker for a gift with sentiment, and Mermaids and Dinosaurs do the most beautiful personalised pieces, and this one has to be my favourite
Large Pink Leopard Print Tote Bag
Leopard is IN and we are loving it! And bags are my ‘thing’, I just adore this tote bag from Eleanor Bowmer. They are currently doing pre-orders for Christmas delivery. They also do a matching zip up pouch that would make a perfect makeup bag.
